Every year, the Jeune Ballet at Lyon's Conservatoire national supérieur musique et danse (CNSMD) performs a famous piece by an internationally-renowned choreographer. Last March, the student dancers had the opportunity to perform May B by Maguy Marin.

Since it was created, May B has been taught to dance students in higher education, and the Lyon CNSMD's Jeune Ballet now have the privilege of performing it. For this occasion, the performance was reworked by Isabelle Missal, a performer at the Ramdam art center.

University, a place of culture

The Université de Lyon supports this collaboration, a pledge to teach a piece to dancers from the Jeune Ballet and to share it promote it to the public, as part of partnerships established between its member and associate institutions.

Furthermore, the involvement of Lumière Lyon 2 and Claude Bernard Lyon 1 universities in the Lyon CNSMD's annual program falls under the 2013 Inter-Ministerial Higher Education and Culture Convention, "University, a place of culture". The convention promotes artists in higher education institutions and positions them as fully fledged cultural institutions.
