The Université de Lyon, committed to the energy and ecological transition
The Université de Lyon and its member institutions, in partnership with Crous de Lyon and with the support of the Caisse des Dépôts, have made a collective commitment to the successful energy and ecological transition of the Lyon Saint-Étienne university site, and are rallying together to reduce the site's environmental impact.
The site comprises around 500 buildings over 1.4 million square meters and accommodates nearly 150,000 people, including students, teachers, research lecturers and staff.
The university's transition, in light of its heating and electricity requirements, the travel it brings about and the waste it creates, is an important part of the region's fight against climate change.
Through its real estate strategy, which has been particularly implemented as part of Lyon Cité Campus and the State-Region Planning Contract (CPER - Contrat de plan État-Région) which has made an unparalleled investment in the energy and ecological transition, the Université de Lyon has already proven itself to be a key actor in the region's energy transition.
