- December 2, 2018, 6PM: Information meeting
- December 19, 2018: Application deadline
- Between December 2018 and February 2019: "A33 training program - Communicating research to the general public: My Thesis in 180 Seconds" training sessions
- February 20, 2019: Deadline for sending your video presentation and documentation (thesis supervisor and/or financer)
- End of February 2019: Shortlisting of the fourteen candidates
- March 28, 2019: The "Université de Lyon" regional final
- Start of April 2019: Three-day national semi-final
- June 2019: National final
- September 2019: International francophone final

Promoting young scientists and training PhD students on how to communicate effectively
The My Thesis in 180 Seconds competition aims to promote young scientists, showcase how PhD students can communicate their research work effectively, raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a dialogue between science and society, and ultimately support young researchers entering employment.
The Université de Lyon wanted to take a step further by offering an innovative training program for PhD student candidates (registration is advised). The institution aims to help them perfect their oral communication techniques with the support of communication professionals and actors.
