Urban Logistics School

Join us at Lyon's first Urban Logistics Summer School! This immersion into the world of urban logistics will introduce you to strategic issues in urban logistics and strengthen your knowledge and skills in this topic by drawing on testimonies from actors in the field and the latest scientific research findings.

The Urban Logistics Summer School is oriented towards business managers and policymakers who would like to devise a strategy for urban goods movement both today and in the future.

Detailed program

Half day no. 1 – Strategic issues in urban logistics

► An introduction to the key elements to better understand issues related to urban goods movement.

Half day no. 2 – Serious game session: Urbalog, developing city logistics

► Compare the objectives and concerns of various stakeholders in urban logistics in a role play concerning the construction of a new district.

Half day no. 3 – Urban logistics spaces: how can we optimize the movement of goods?

► Discover different solutions for urban logistics spaces and success factors for different experiments.

Half day no. 4 – Occupying and sharing roads through the prism of urban goods movement

► Analyze how actors in the transportation of goods in cities use roads, as well as solutions for better sharing, and the possibilities and limitations of intermodality for sustainable cities.

Half day no. 5 – Online selling: what are the changes for urban logistics?

► Understand the new purchasing and consumer habits of households and their impact on urban goods movement.

Half day no. 6 – Waste logistics

► Discover how waste logistics works and explore new practices for managing waste sustainably


Closing session: Summary of the three days
