The Université de Lyon’s Research Ethics platform has opened its MOOC

From June 7, 2018 to October 10, 2018

The Université de Lyon’s research ethics platform launched its MOOC during its annual symposium on June 6 & 7.

The Université de Lyon’s Research Ethics platform

The Université de Lyon's Ethics platform looks at three areas to lead monitoring, training and action-oriented research activities based on preventing fraudulent schemes, the falsification of results and plagiarism.

This is responding to changes at the national, European and international scales designed to establish guidelines for scientific research at four complementary levels:

  1. Deontology for professional researchers;
  2. Scientific integrity;
  3. Research ethics;
  4. Social responsibility.

About the course

Since May 2015, all PhD students must receive training on scientific integrity and research ethics.

Two complementary MOOCs are being offered to gain knowledge and understanding of the key deontological and ethical issues in science.

These five-week MOOC courses, preceded by an introduction week, are primarily designed for graduate students, but they may also interest researchers and citizens who wish to understand the ethical issues at play in contemporary research.
