Brazilian Alliance partners

Cooperation between the Université de Lyon and the University of São Paulo was formally established by the framework agreement signed in May 2013 concerning training and research. Over time, it has branched out to cover a variety of disciplines and research collaborations.
The strong cooperation between these International Alliance partners was consolidated further by the opening of a permanent representative office for the Université de Lyon in São Paulo.

(Flagship) projects developed through the International Alliance:

The creation of a law degree program located in São Paulo

As part of the Triangular Partnerships in Higher Education (PITES), the University of São Paulo, Jean Moulin Lyon 3, Lumière Lyon 2 and Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne have come together to create a law degree. Around fifty students from the University of São Paulo (USP) enrolled in the first year of the program in 2014.
The first class graduated in 2017

Implementation of a seed fund for research projects and mobility

In 2015, the Université de Lyon and the University of São Paulo signed a Memorandum of Understanding enabling the creation of a seed fund that aims to help promising research projects grow and obtain additional national and international funding. The seed fund ended in December 2016, as agreed in the initial agreement.
