Science Shop: applications are open for 2018-2019 internships for second-year Master's students
From October 31, 2018 to November 18, 2018
The Université de Lyon’s Science Shop is building a bridge between research and civil society. Each year, it matches organizations with a team of scientists to find practical solutions to their concerns.
The wide variety of topics addressed within the Science Shop reflects the various issues raised in civil society: perceptions and representations of climate change, treatment and understanding “dys-” conditions, involving the general public in an urban project, etc.
Through the Science Shop, second-year Master’s students are given the opportunity to address these social issues during a hands-on internship in their second semester in a research project within an organization. Students selected for a project will be supported by a researcher as they provide partner organizations with their knowledge and skills.
This year, the Science Shop is offering 12 internships covering topics related to diverse programs and themes: urban planning, the environment and sustainable development, cognitive science, sociology, etc.
• Through November 18, 2018: second-year Master’s students recruited • Starting February 2019: internships within the organizations • Starting September 2019: publication of the study results to the organizations and the general public
