Conference & debate on animal consciousness at VetAgro Sup

On The December 6, 2018

A lecture and debate about animal consciousness is being held at the veterinary campus in Lyon on December 6, 2018. It is funded by IDEXLYON and is part of the Global Health 2018 series of lectures organized by VetAgro Sup.

Following the 2012 Cambridge manifesto about the importance of taking animal consciousness into consideration, which was drafted by scientists, and the report requested by the French National Institute of Agronomic Research (Inra) in 2017, the time has come for researchers, philosophers, theologians, clinicians and citizens to truly confront this issue.

This colloquium is adopting a pluralistic and complementary approach. They day will begin with a presentation of the Inra report and will feature talks from experts in various fields, who will then hold a panel discussion.

Global Health is a new field at the intersection of human, animal and environmental health that aims to improve the health of people, animals and the planet.
