Which three researchers have won the 2018 Young Researcher Award?

The award ceremony recognized the talent of three young researchers, and was attended by Jean-Paul Bret, the Vice President of the Métropole de Lyon in charge of universities, Guy Corazzol, the Deputy Mayor of Lyon responsible for education, student life and university promotion, and Eric Maurincomme, Director of the INSA Lyon and Vice-President responsible for innovation and entrepreneurship at the Université de Lyon.

Winners of the Biology, Health and Society Award

► Sarah Huet, Associate Professor at the Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 – Doctor at the HCL de Lyon, for the scientific paper titled: “Caractérisation moléculaire du lymphome folliculaire : conséquences physiopathologiques et cliniques” (Molecular characterization of follicular lymphoma cells and their microenvironment and clinical consequences).

► Sara Valencia Garcia, currently a fellow at the Silvia Arber laboratory in Switzerland, for the scientific paper titled: “Le sommeil paradoxal et la maladie de Parkinson” (REM sleep and Parkinson’s disease).

Winner of the Science and Engineering Award – formal, nature and engineering sciences

► Pol Grasland-Mongrain, currently a fellow at the ENS de Lyon, receiving the award for his scientific paper titled: “Application de la force de Lorentz en acoustique médicale” (Applications of Lorentz force in medical acoustics).

The three winners each received a prize of €5,000 for the high quality of their scientific projects. The Université de Lyon congratulates these three researchers who contribute to promoting Lyon’s scientific excellence.
