COMOD LabEx supports the international "Feminist Theory" symposium

From April 25, 2018 to April 27, 2018

The international “Feminist Theory” symposium is supported by COMOD LabEx and falls within the field of gender research. It is applied within the framework of LabEx’s no.3 thematic axis, entitled “L’État et les citoyens” ("A country and its citizens").

Objective

The goal of the symposium is to explore the specificities of the “impurity” of feminist theory, which continually negotiates with the world that surrounds it, and its manifestations within epistemological models throughout different disciplines. More specifically, the symposium will address issues of philosophy and political science.

Efforts will focus on elaborating concepts necessary for carrying out empirical research, with a special interest in gender, as well as on a review and amendment of a theoretical model or inherited methodology examined through a feminist lens. We will also observe ideas concerning the various specificities of the relationship between the feminist vision and theory, namely in the fields of philosophy or political science.

The symposium is multidisciplinary; it will not focus directly or solely on empirical evidence, but will also consider theorization or the task of theorization.

The symposium will be held from 25 to 27 April 2018.
