Applications open for the 2019 My Thesis in 180 Seconds competition

From November 13, 2018 to December 19, 2018

My Thesis in 180 Seconds, the international Francophone competition launched in Quebec, is back for the sixth time in France. The initiative is led by the Conference of university presidents (CPU) and the CNRS. The Université de Lyon is organizing the competition for the Lyon Saint-Étienne site on behalf of its member institutions.

My Thesis in 180 Seconds gives students an opportunity to present their research topic to a jury and a non-academic audience in simple terms to popularize it. Each PhD student must present their research project in three minutes in a clear and concise, yet convincing manner.

Each year, after the regional final, two candidates from each participating university group compete in a national semi-final.

All PhD students at the Université de Lyon are invited to take part in the competition.

► Apply before December 19, 2018. The local finals for the Université de Lyon will be held on March 28, 2019.
