- "ArtScience: a summit meeting"
The association will be presenting its project, ArtScience, a collaboration between artists and researchers producing works based on scientific research. Several lab partnerships made up of one artist and one scientist will be asked to discuss research led by the scientist. These discussions and scientific images produced by the researcher will then form the basis of the artist's work. These discussions and the works created will be used as mediation tools during the workshops organized by DéMesures.
You will then be asked to deconstruct your beliefs in a participatory workshop, which aims to demonstrate that links between art and science exist and that there is sometimes a very fine line between these two disciplines. This workshop will be followed by a round table with one of the artist-scientist pairs, as well as various stakeholders in the project. You will finally be able to put yourself in the artist's shoes by creating a work using scientific images.
Four artists have been invited to participate in this project, which will begin over the coming weeks:Nabil Tazi (photography), Mauricio Masoli (painting), Laurent Perche (drawing), Juliette Montier.
Organized by: the DéMesures scientific culture association and Taverne Gutemberg
Date: Thursday, April 5, 2018
Time: from 6:30PM to 7:30 PM
Location: Descartes Auditorium, Lyon (France)
Registration/Entrance fee: Free/Free entry
